Colonel Ajai Shukla (Retired) is an Independent Director of the Company. With diverse background and deep understanding of defence and strategic matters, he brings a unique blend of military expertise and journalistic acumen to his role. Currently serving as the Consulting Editor (Strategic Affairs) at the esteemed daily business newspaper, Business Standard, Colonel Shukla’s focus encompasses strategic affairs, defence policy, budgeting and procurement, force structuring, and India’s defence economy. 

His insightful analysis and commentary have graced international publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, South China Morning Post, and professional journals like the London-based Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) journal. His extensive experience as a war correspondent with New Delhi Television adds depth to his perspective. Top of Form Colonel Shukla is a graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and holds master’s degrees from Madras University and King’s College, London, specializing in war studies. 

Prior to his illustrious journalism career, Colonel Shukla served as a combat soldier for over two decades, with multiple tenures in conflict zones including Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
